Invitation for Participation: Consultations Exploring Feminist Peace

In collaboration with WILPF, CTDC is inviting you to participate in a series of online consultations via zoom aiming to explore and scope feminist and women’s work and movements in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine, and particularly these that contribute to a feminist peace agenda. The purpose of these consultations is to better understand the modes of operation and needs, to reach and to prioritise new and emerging women’s rights and feminist entities, especially those that emerged after the second wave of the popular movements in the MENA region (post-2019), and that are less likely to receive flexible funding from other donors or funds.

As part of these consultations, we will be exploring the following research questions:

How are feminist movements, including feminist entities, responding to political and contextual challenges?

How do feminist movements, including feminist entities, understand ‘feminist peace’ and utilise it in their work? Are there contextual differences related to this understanding?

What are the challenges feminist entities face, and what types of support is needed to overcome these challenges?

Upon your consent, your participation will guarantee that the name of your organisation/group/initiative/collective/cooperative is included in a list for potential collaborations with WILPF.

Participation is open to:

  • Women’s and feminist entities, including organisations, groups, collectives, cooperatives, and initiatives,
  • Organisations, groups, collectives, cooperatives, and initiatives whose work addresses militarism, patriarchy, capitalism and racism,
  • Women’s and feminist entities that have a feminist peace, or a general peace agenda,
  • Organisations, groups, collectives, cooperatives, and initiatives with a decolonial agenda,
  • Organisations, groups, collectives, cooperatives, and initiatives that utilise an intersectional approach,
  • Women’s and feminist entities that work in any of the following fields: development, human and women’s rights, advocacy, youth, cyber rights, media, education, knowledge production, law, economic development and empowerment, political economy, environmentalism, sexual and reproductive health rights, gender justice, and sexuality.
