Recurring conflict is information about the structure

Culture, leadership practice, working relationships, conflict, repair, and the informal arrangements that shape what actually happens.

Organisational Culture, Leadership & Conflict

Why this is hard.

When the same tension returns after every attempt to resolve it, the problem is usually not the people involved. Recurring conflict is normally telling you something accurate about the organisation: authority that was never clearly assigned, risk that is unequally distributed, a decision that everyone believes was made and nobody can locate, or a gap between what the organisation says about itself and what staff experience.

We work on both layers: the immediate difficulty, because it needs to be addressed and people are living inside it, and the conditions producing it, because otherwise it will return.

We also work on culture when nothing is visibly wrong: organisations preparing for growth, integrating teams after restructuring, or wanting to understand why retention, morale or trust are drifting.

Questions organisations bring us.

  • "We have addressed this three times and it keeps coming back."
  • "Our staff survey results are poor and we do not understand why."
  • "Two senior people cannot work together and it is affecting everyone."
  • "Something happened last year. Nobody talks about it and everybody works around it."
  • "We want ongoing support rather than calling someone in each time."
